ENGL 210

This document depicts how the team defined the problem, narrowed down a specific area of interest to prototype, examined constraints, and gathered research explaining the benefits and drawbacks of sulfur.

Reflection:

I think my writing and communication skills have grown because I have become less indecisive about what to write. Usually, it would take me a couple of hours to sit down and think of what I have to write, but now that I have a deadline to meet and teammates that need to check my work, I developed a sense of confidence in writing that allowed me to just write what was in my mind and proofread later on. Because I was less worried of having to fix it later, I was more relaxed in writing, which made me write better. Basically, stress less, write more.

This powerpoint shows a brief overview of the Problem Statement and its important points, as well as, detail the assessment of solutions through a matrix analysis.

Reflection:

In doing the presentation, I really took on the role of a teammate. Usually, I like having things my way and that means doing all the work if need be, but for this presentation, I only did what was assigned to me and suggested feedback, rather than unrelentingly persuade my teammates to do it the way I want it. I also learned that sometimes you just got to step back and give your teammates the room to grow and figure out a solution to their problem. This is important because if the situations were reversed, I would like to get the chance to solve the problem rather than rely on someone else to do the solving for me. Lastly, I learned to accept that there are things that I cannot control. Since I was not the primary on this task, I had to give up creative control and that meant to respect and restraint.

This document shows my passions, achievements, projects, skills, leadership positions, and etc.

Reflection:

In this document, I can see clearly the path that I want to take in the future and the values that I hold true as an engineer. Also, this document helps me realized the potential I possess and how far I've come along in my years in university. Sometimes, it is hard to see the fruits of your labor when you don't have a picture. Well, this is that picture and it honestly feels pretty motivating.

This poster shows the problem, methodology, benefits of sulfur, benefits of producing the soap, and cost-benefit analysis to prove feasibility.

Reflection:

In this poster, I saw the difference time makes with a team. Earlier in the semester, a similar deliverable was made and each person did their own individual part. This poster, however, is a mesh effort of the entire team. I think this poster shows how far along our team has come from the beginning of the project.

This video is an advertisement video that targets both customers and possible investors to our product - sustainable soap (soap infused with 5% sulfur).

Reflection:

To me, this video proves that big problems don't require big solutions. It shows that small steps to a problem can have a massive impact. In addition to that, creativity is really quite innovative. I know that statement didn't really make sense. The solution my team came up with for the excess sulfur problem was at first expensive, and with our attempt to lowering the cost, we managed to take advantage of other excess byproducts in Qatar's industry. If this project can lead someone to such innovative thinking, I am and we are a better engineer for it.
